This core practice of Tri-dosha consists of asana, pranayama and meditation. It’s simultaneously relaxing and balancing. The tri-dosha helps to regulate our hormonal system. For it works with the 3 doshas that are based on the Ayurvedic principles of Vata, Pitta, Kapha. These 3 elements comprise our innate bodily constitution or prakriti. Many of our health issues or “dis-eases” according to Ayurveda stem from an imbalance between these properties and are often characterised by a dominance of one. This series, practiced in a combination of supine (lying on one’s back facing up) seated and prone postures (lying on the mat facing down) helps to bring the doshas in balance and the body/mind into equanimity.
